In this activity, we will be cooking Okonomi-yaki, Yaki-soba and Salad with Miso-dressing. Then we will have Matcha tea with Japanese sweets.
I’ve created easy-to-use recipes with ingredients that can be bought back at home!
The menu will be the following:
Okonomiyaki - We use flour, cabbage, egg and pork or seafood. Then cook the savory pancake on the frying pan. You can enjoy the flavorful Okonomiyaki-sauce.
Yakisoba - We will stir-fry yakisoba noodles and some vegetables with Japanese yakisoba sauce.
Miso-dressing - We use yellow miso for dressing. You can add your favorite seasoning to change the basic taste. If you change the vegetable oil, you also enjoy the different flavor.
Tea ceremony - After the meal and Japanese sweets everyone can enjoy the long anticipated traditional Japanese tea ceremony! The type of dessert will vary depending on the season.
During the class we will use a bamboo spoon to make some traditional Japanese Matcha tea (green tea). The Japanese tea ceremony is a very important part of Japan’s culture and a great way to relax and reflect on your Japanese cooking experience in Tokyo.
